CREEP by HIROSHI AWAI / by Lori Parkerson

Based in Toronto, Canada, CREEP by HIROSHI AWAI, is first up for Men's Spring/Summer 2014 at Redeem. Awai's innovative Japanese design joined with his passion for "the simple beauty of functional American work wear" sets the tone for the upcoming spring season. His latest collection combines a lighter, fresher palette (mint blues and clay greens) alongside playful designs ("jacquard" and bird print jackets) to create a uniquely specific menswear look--striking the perfect balance between neither too cool, nor too casual.

Founded in Osaka, Japan in 1997, the CREEP identity is inherently Japanese in design. In 2008, the brand re-located to North America and launched its exclusive men's line, CREEP by Hiroshi Awai. As men's creative director, Awai began introducing Japanese construction and design techniques to American work wear, merging complicated cuts and richly textured fabrics with utilitarian principles- aka form and function. Spring/Summer 2014 is no exception with his most recent look book and video, playfully layering tailored jackets and cotton button downs with loose chinos. An overdyed linen scarf in deep navy completes his innovative and slightly quirky spring looks. Preview the collection and video below...coming soon to Redeem
